What I Really Do When I’m Not Coaching
From Rocking Keyboards to Raising Kids, Here’s the Behind-the-Scenes Look at My Real Life (And Why It All Matters More Than You Think)
Alright, let’s hit pause on all the heavy talk about digital coaching for a moment, shall we? Today, I’m peeling back the layers and giving you a sneak peek into the other sides of my life—beyond the webinars, funnels, and online business strategies. You see, life’s not just about the hustle; it’s about finding the perfect tune, the right vibe, and the true beat that makes your heart sing. So, grab a comfy seat, maybe a hot chai, and let’s dive into the tapestry of my journey—a story that just might make you nod, laugh, or even go, "Hey, that's me too!"
The Soundtrack of My Life: A Musical Odyssey
Music wasn’t just a hobby in my house; it was the family language. Picture this: my dad, my mom, my brother—each with a guitar, strumming away. And then there was me, the odd one out with my keyboard. My love affair with the keys started when I was just 10 years old. I still remember the moment I got my first keyboard from my uncle—it was like being handed a magic wand. I didn’t do it by the book; playing by ear was my thing. Forget those stiff notations; I’d rather lose myself in the chords of a Michael Learns to Rock track or some classic Beatles.
You see, we were a typical Tambrahm family from South India, but thanks to my convent school upbringing, Western rock was as much a part of my childhood as Rasam Rice. We’d jam together as a family, and those were the moments that taught me more about harmony and teamwork than any school lesson ever could.
Food for the Soul (And the Stomach)
Now, let’s talk food. I’m not your typical “gorge on anything” kind of guy. Our household sticks to a strict Satvic diet—no onion, no garlic, and strictly vegetarian. And we don’t just eat; we offer our food to the altar at home, blessing it before we dig in. I can already hear some of you thinking, “Dude, how do you survive without masala dosa with garlic chutney?” Well, it’s been a journey, my friend. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the energy it carries. My mornings kick off with a Herbalife shake (yes, even if you see me traveling and hustling, this routine sticks), and I’ve gotta say, nothing beats that clean, light feeling compared to a heavy breakfast.
Family: The True VIPs
Speaking of family, did I mention I’m a dad to two amazing boys? I found my wife at a spiritual retreat in Mayapur back in 2007. It was a classic “love at first sight” moment—45 minutes of conversation, and we knew we were going to be life partners. Our journey together has been nothing short of a spiritual roller coaster, grounded in faith and love. We’ve been blessed with two boys who are the heartbeats of our lives.
One of the most profound moments of my life was when my first son was born. The sleepless nights, the cries—it all hit me like a tidal wave. But amidst the chaos, there was clarity. I remember breaking down one night and thanking my parents for being the best I could ever have. It’s one thing to hear about parenting; it’s another to live it.
Travel: It’s About the Journey, Not Just the Destination
My wife and I aren’t the typical globe-trotting Instagram couple. We’re more into spiritual retreats than beach resorts. Whether it’s a trip back to my roots in Madurai or exploring the historic temples of Srirangam, we find our joy in places with deep spiritual vibes. Trust me, there’s something magical about standing in the very spots your ancestors walked, feeling a connection that goes beyond the here and now.
Spirituality: The Core That Holds It All Together
If there’s one constant thread through the fabric of my life, it’s spirituality. My dad, a former alcoholic, transformed himself through spiritual practice—a change I witnessed firsthand from the age of 10. It was a shift that brought peace to our home and laid the foundation for my own spiritual journey. Fast forward to 2006, I found my guru and took the plunge, committing my life to spiritual practice.
It’s more than just rituals or rules; it’s about living with purpose and intention. It’s what keeps me grounded when the entrepreneurial world gets a bit too chaotic.
Gaming: A Different Kind of Strategy
Let’s switch gears to something less heavy—gaming! Yep, I’m a gamer at heart. From Sega classics to PS5 adventures, gaming has always been my way to unwind and recharge. And now, it’s something I share with my son. Whether it’s completing the latest Lego game or diving into the mystical world of Zelda, gaming is our bonding time. I’m all about games that uplift and inspire, which is why titles like “Zelda: Breath of the Wild” hold a special place in my heart. Sure, it’s just pixels on a screen, but it’s also lessons in problem-solving, persistence, and yes, having a little fun along the way.
Movies That Shaped My Worldview
If you grew up on Michael Keaton’s Batman or were mesmerized by the philosophical undertones of The Matrix, then we’re on the same page. I’ve always been drawn to movies that make you think, that challenge the status quo—like Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending films or the epic saga of Lord of the Rings. I’m not one to binge-watch shows, but give me a good Nolan flick, and I’m there, popcorn in hand, ready to be blown away.
Composing Music: Creating My Own Tunes
Music composition has been my creative playground for years. From playing keyboards for nearly 200 songs during my sound engineering days to launching my own album blending Vedic texts with modern tunes, music is where my soul finds expression. It’s not about making money or topping charts (though that happened once, and it was pretty cool!). It’s about creating something that resonates, that feels right.
Friends: The Chosen Family
Over the years, I’ve been blessed with incredible friendships. Not many, but deep ones. From the school trio days with Jovian and Noel to my sound engineering gang in Mumbai, each chapter of my life brought me a new circle of companions. Today, my close friends are from the training and coaching world—fellow travelers on this path of digital entrepreneurship. And no matter where life takes us, these friendships remain a constant source of strength and joy.
Gadgets: Because Every Coach Needs His Toys
I’ve always been a gadget freak. Whether it’s the latest Apple tech or state-of-the-art audio gear, I’m all in. My first love? A keyboard gifted by my uncle. From there, it’s been a journey through soundcards, mics, and all things tech. I might have evolved from musician to digital coach, but the love for gadgets? That’s forever.
Wrapping Up: Life Beyond the Hustle
So there you have it—glimpses of my life outside the digital coaching world. It’s not just about business; it’s about blending passions, honoring traditions, and creating a life that feels true to who you are. Maybe you see a bit of yourself in this story. Maybe it sparks something in you. Either way, I hope it gives you a sense of connection and a reminder that there’s always more to the journey than just the destination.
Until next time, keep living, keep exploring, and remember—life’s a beautiful blend of beats, bytes, and everything in between.
Cheers,
Siddharth Rajsekar
